Where to even begin! Well, before I delve into posting about my running, my struggles and my victories, I guess I should introduce myself.
My name is Breanna Herd, I am 24 years old and I have been running for about 5 and a half years now (the photo is from my first ever half-marathon). You may read that and think, wow that’s a long time clearly she’s fast and thin and got this running stuff down by now. Boy do I wish that was true! You’ll see as we journey together that I am now slower than I was when I started and about 30 pounds heavier too which is another reason I decided to start this blog. But anyway! I am married to a wonderful amazing and supportive man who loves me through all of my flaws, to which I’ll never understand why. I have always lived an active lifestyle playing sports all my life and coaching for as long as I can remember. I have two amazing parents who have been married for 35 years, I have one sister and we are complete opposites but I love her so very much. I work as a teacher’s aide/teacher/event organizer/social media person/so many more things because I love my job and the amount of things I get to do for it.
My favorite color is yellow, my favorite Disney princess is Cinderella, I love to binge watch tv – it’s my guilty pleasure. My favorite sport is basketball although I do love soccer, volleyball, and softball as well. I recently tried flag football – not quite for me, might have been that it was beach flag football though as I was really good at regular flag football in high school. I LOVE sports and am passionate about my teams – LA Lakers, New Orleans Saints, Anaheim Angels (no I will not call them the other name), and the Los Angeles Kings. I also love college sports with Duke and Oregon being my top two. I am insanely competitive so naturally everything is a competition. I have run 15 half-marathons and 10 marathons, I have done 2 sprint distance triathlons before the doctor put the kibosh on my swimming career.
I am starting this blog because I have way too many thoughts and doubts in my head and I thought what better way to get them out then to put them on “paper” so to speak. In my next post I am going to talk about my biggest current struggle – motivation. I look forward to beginning my blog journey and sharing my honest struggles with you all, I hope I can someway be of help to either those reading or maybe just to myself! Either way, it should be a fun and interesting journey so let’s get started.
